IAUP CONFERENCE INVITATION

Dear colleagues, partners and friends,

We invite you to attend the XVIII Triennial Conference of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) which will be held in Vienna, Austria on 5th - 8th July, 2017.

In 2017 we will be introducing a new dual-conference-concept: On the one hand we will be hosting the IAUP Triennial Conference with the general theme „Innovation in Education“ and on the other hand we will be offering „Young Scientists“ the opportunity to hold their own conference at the same time, in the same town, albeit in a different venue. The main theme of the IAUP Young Scientist Conference is „Sustainability.

The general themes of “Innovation in Education” are:

>> Simulation-based learning and training

>> Innovation technologies in learning and training

>> Expectations from the industry to the education worldwide

>> New trends in education

In addition to an extraordinary opening ceremony and compelling keynote speeches it is the first time that the
Anton Bruckner University (one of the five Austrian Universities for Music, Drama and Dance) will melodiously accompany the entire Triennial by introducing each session with musical background.

During the conference we also offer an evening programme, in the following venues:

Wednesday 5th July 2017 - Opening Cocktail Party
The Opening Cocktail Party will take place in one of the most splendid monumental buildings in Vienna - the Vienna City Hall. Erected in Gothic style it serves as the head office of Vienna‘s municipal administration.

Thursday 6th July 2017 – Vienna's Night
Enjoy a concert of the famous Bruckner Orchestra conducted

by Dennis Russell Davies in the breath-taking St. Stephen's Cathedral - the symbol of Vienna.

Friday 7th July 2017 - Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner will be in the theme of Georgian Culture and take place directly in the marvellous Festsaal of the Hofburg, the official residence and workplace of the President of Austria.

Attached please find an annex, containing all important information regarding the conference. Please also find our optional cultural programme on our conference website: www://iauptriennial2017.com/cultural-programme/

We would be honoured by your attendance and participation and hope that you will be able to accept our invitation and register as early as possible under: www.conftool.pro/iauptriennial2017 (for more information about the conference registration please see: www.iauptriennial2017.com/registration-iaup-triennal)

The IAUP scientific conference, called Young Scientists Conference, will be organised in parallel to the IAUP Triennial with several overlapping events. Due to the fact that we want to bring together leaders of the field with our future research capacity, early career researchers are particularly invited to submit their work. The scientific conference will take place in the same town, albeit in a different venue.

TheYoung Scientists Conference is organised in two tracks:

  • Global Challenges
  • Mobility of the Future

We kindly ask you to encourage early career scientists from your institution to attend this parallel scientific conference. The early career scientists can register under www.conftool.pro/youngscientists2017/.

You may find more information about the registration and the side events under: www.iauptriennial2017.com/registration-young-scientist/
